Waltz of Sirens

Inspired by various siren sounds different from her native country, contemporary prodigy composer Alma Deutscher, at the age of 15, composed Waltz of Sirens for orchestra. It’s brilliant to hear the imitation of sirens using strings and melodica, and pleasantly surprising how the composer transforms the siren sounds into a smooth classical waltz.

Coronation Music

The coronation of King Charles III was filled with pieces new and old like Iain Farrington’s arrangement of Gustav Holst’s ‘Jupiter’ from The Planets, and Sarah Class’ ‘Sacred Fire’, sung by Pretty Yende. Among the many wonderful performances, The Ascension Choir sang ‘Alleluia (O Sing Praises) as the first gospel choir to perform at a coronation.
