Horn

Scholar, Chenter Foundation Chen Hong-Muo and Chen Fu Scholarship (2025-2026)

Biography

Cherilyn Liu is a freshman at Juilliard. Influenced by her mother, a piano professor, she has studied the French horn for 10 years. After junior high in a music program, she pursued a general academic track, sparking interests in veterinary science, photography, and stage production. As a biomedical student, she continued practicing the horn and won first prize in Taiwan’s National Student Music Competition. She also served as photography club president, led graduation stage and video production, and earned prizes in swimming. At a music camp, she discovered her passion for orchestra and chamber music, which continues to inspire her.

"I would like to sincerely thank you for your generous support in making this scholarship possible. This award not only helps relieve the financial burden of studying abroad, but also gives me the opportunity to focus fully on my musical and academic growth. Music is my greatest passion, and with your support, I feel encouraged to pursue my dream of becoming a professional French horn player. Your generosity inspires me to work hard and share my music with the world."
